Holiday House NYC 2014

For the past 6 years the Holiday House NYC has been showcasing the work of talented top designers while benefiting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. It was founded in 2008 by interior designer Iris Dankner and it is the first show house to benefit a breast cancer organization. Partnering with Traditional Home Magazine, the show house is open at the historic Academy Mansion until December 21. This year, a common theme was fine art. Seeing what becomes of the rooms in the hands of a new designer year after year is part of the experience.

Designed by Taylor Hannah Architect, "Pauline's Room" is at the
main entry foyer with  furnishings by ABC Carpet and Home.

A Versailles inspired grand dining room designed by Amy Lau
for Baccarat, to celebrate their 250th anniversary.

A Caribbean Island Holiday inspired living room by
Gary McBournie, tented in his own fabric.

Mcbournie wanted to convey a getaway home, similar to the
vacation homes he designs for his clients in the Caribbean.

in antigua for women's dresses and men's shorts (on the other side)

Michael Tavano's master bedroom desig is an "Ode to Paris Fashion" influenced
by the sleek, organic lines of Roche Bobois furniture.

An elaborate red lacquer ceiling allowed by Tavano to
feature the circular pendants centered over the room.

A image in wire mesh sits over a curved sofa in Tavano's
room, emphasizing organic lines and human form.

represents the glimmering light of the universe reflecting in our
interior spaces when the sunlight returns after a period of darkness.

"Mother's Day" home office design by Kapito Muller.

A mix of modern mid-century and classical pieces to represent a modern woman; a
Manhattan Mom, by Upper East Side based duo Alyssa Kapito and Vivian Muller.

Guilliame Gentet's art filled bedroom suite is inspired in

held at last year's Holiday House in the space that he designed.

Designer Caleb Anderson created an eclectic "Personal Day"
