Kips Bay Decorator Show House Announces 2016 Location

In its forty-fourth year, the highly anticipated Kips Bay Decorator Show House, hosted by the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, will be located at The Carlton House Townhouse at 19 East 61st Street in New York City’s iconic Lenox Hill neighborhood. The Kips Bay Decorator Show House Committee will be accepting submissions from interior designers and architects to participate in this year’s event through February 5th.

The Carlton House Townhouse sits adjacent to The Carlton House, a newly transformed luxury building originally designed as a hotel in 1940 by Kenneth B. Norton. In 2013, Extell Development, along with architect Beyer Blinder Belle, began converting The Carlton House into a 68-unit tower, adding two extra stories to the original structure and a townhouse next door. The Townhouse, which has a separate private entrance along East 61stStreet, is currently a raw space that potential homeowners will be able to customize to their specifications.

The Show House will be open to the public for one month beginning on Thursday, May 12th

Proceeds from the Decorator Show House, which attracts an estimated 15,000 visitors each year, benefit the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club which offers innovative after-school and enrichment programs for more than 10,000 youth, ages 6 through 18, in ten locations throughout the Bronx. The esteemed organization has raised over $20 million to date.
